Appointed Governors


  • Cllr. Linda Dales - Appointed Governor - Newark and Sherwood District Council

    Councillor Linda Dales is an appointed governor representing Newark and Sherwood District Council. She is now retired, having worked for the NHS in the ten years leading up to retirement. She is a member of Collingham Medical Centre's PPG and keen to help ensure that the patient's voice is heard. 


  • Cllr. David Walters - Appointed Governor - Ashfield District Council

    Councillor David Walters is an appointed governor representing Ashfield District Council. He has served in the armed forces and until retirement worked with a world leading company that specialises in dialysis treatment and care.


  • Cllr. Angie Jackson - Appointed Governor - Mansfield District Council

    RGN, RM, BSc Hons,PGC

    Councillor Angie Jackson is an appointed governor representing Mansfield District Council.

    Angie was elected as councillor for Kingsway Ward in Forest Town and is also part of the Mayor’s Cabinet as the joint portfolio holder for Wellbeing, Health and Safer Communities.

    Having taken retirement from the NHS after almost 40 years where she worked as a nurse, midwife and then as a manager, Angie has continued to do some work within healthcare and has been an exam invigilator at a local school.

    Angie is passionate about the NHS and is delighted that she has this opportunity to use her skills and experience to work with SFHT, supporting them to deliver excellent care to the community and acting as a link between the trust and the councillors who represent those communities.

    Outside of work and council commitments, Angie likes to get outside and walk her dog or run and enjoys going to the theatre and concerts with her husband.

     


  • Nikki Slack - Appointed Governor - West Notts College

    Nikki ran her own successful business for 18 years before moving into the education sector in 2003. She has worked in both teaching positions and management and is currently the Assistant Principal at West Notts College.

     

    Nikki’s aim as an appointed governor is to ensure that the younger generation have more influence in the direction of the NHS. She would also like the education system and NHS Trusts to work collaboratively to ensure we have a trained future skilled workforce in every department to provide the patient care that is needed.


  • Cllr. John Doddy - Appointed Governor - Nottinghamshire County Council

    John has been working as a GP since 1991 and still gains the same enjoyment seeing patients every day. He was elected as a County Councillor over 10 years ago and is currently Chair of the Health & Wellbeing Board for Nottinghamshire.

    He thrives on the increasing integration between the NHS and Social Care and is passionate about the success of our Integrated Care Partnership.

    In his spare time John enjoys spending time with his family and grandchildren and is a keen long-distance runner.


  • Mr Kevin Stewart - Appointed Governor - Volunteers

    MBA, Fellow LIBF

    Kevin is now in his third term as a governor which is to represent the many valuable volunteers across all of the sites in The Trust. He was previously a public governor for Ashfield so brings a wide experience to the Council of Governors. His prior business background as a Corporate Bank Manager in Healthcare adds more expertise in the governance of the Trust.

    He started volunteering at Kings Mill Hospital during the Covid pandemic and has worked in many areas which has been useful to help him understand more about the hospital from an operational point of view. He is passionate about the patient experience and supporting the delivery of care to the population who attend.
