Sherwood Forest Hospitals asking for patient safety comments at Newark Hospital

December 8, 2016

Staff, patients and visitors at Sherwood Forest Hospitals’ Newark Hospital site are being invited to share their views on what patient safety means to them.

A special Patient Safety Pillar is the focal point for people to add comments and share their views.

Deputy Chief Nurse Phil Bolton said: “Collecting and collating comment is part of a Trust-wide focus on what we are doing well and where we can make improvements.

“We want as many comments as possible from patients, visitors and staff at all levels.”

Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust Medical Director Dr Andy Haynes described patient safety as a lifelong learning process foreveryone in the health service.

“Making our patients safe is a 24/7 activity and we need to make sure that all our staff are aware, trained and supported to deliver it,”he said.

The campaign is part of a wider patient safety programme developed in partnership with Nottingham University Hospitals. The pillar will be at Newark until January 4, 2017.
