Staff Membership

Staff are automatically membersOn 1 February 2007, the Trust was authorised to become Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

This means we are accountable to our staff, patients and stakeholders, who can apply to become members. We aim to ensure that our members have every opportunity to contribute to our ongoing development plans.

More than 25,000 staff, volunteers, patients and the public have chosen to become a member of Sherwood Forest Hospitals.  Membership is your chance to be involved and take ownership.

Or you may wish to play a more active role:

Standing for election as a Governor
Participating in surveys/questionnaires
Attending member events/open days
Being involved in health promotions/campaigns
Recruiting new members

Who are the staff governors and what do they do?

The Trust has a Council of Governors who work alongside the Board of Directors.  There are currently five staff governors representing King's Mill Hospital and two governors representing Newark Hospital - who sit on the Council of Governors.

The Governors act as your voice. If you wish to raise an issue or have any ideas or suggestions, please contact your Governor.
