The Patient Information Advisory Panel (PIAF)

The Patient Information Advisory Panel provides support and advice to authors of patient information, to ensure information produced is patient and reader-friendly and written in plain English.  The panel is made up of Trust members who have expressed an interest in patient information, and each leaflet is sent to a random selection of members.  The author will consider all feedback and make the final decision as to whether or not suggested amendments are appropriate and changes should be made to the leaflet.

The objectives of the Patient Information Advisory Panel (PIAP) are to:

Offer constructive and objective advice on the quality of the non-clinical content, ensuring that it is patient-centred, concise, relevant, understandable and complete

Act as a patient’s voice when assessing patient information.
