Generous donation awarded to Stroke Unit

The presentation was held on 25 June and pictured is volunteer

Trevor Whitt who donated £1000 to the Stroke Unit in memory of his late wife Patricia Whitt.

The cheque was received by the ward leader Karen Turner and other members of staff from the unit.

£1500 Awarded To Dementia Care Appeal

pictureA presentation took place at King’s Mill Hospital on Tuesday 16 June 2015.

 Mr. Martyn Hopkinson, Safety and Training Engineer at Staythorpe Power Station, Newark on Trent, Nottinghamshire, presented a cheque for £1,500 to Ward Leader Jackie Simpson for the dementia care appeal.

The money was raised for Sherwood Forest Hospitals following Staythorpe Power Station’s successful recent maintenance period where this money was raised by donating £20 per successful safety walk.

£300 raised for Stroke Unit

Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust would like to   thank Mr Slack and his two daughters, who presented a donation of £300 to Ward 53 on Monday 20 April.

Mr Slack's daughter suffered a stroke last year and had a long stay on the ward.

The donation was raised at a bingo night in Kirkby where the family live. Pictured with family are: HCA Tracey Blasdale, Trained nurse Sally James , Trained nurse Kim Cotterill, HCA Dorothy Bramley, Ward leader Karen Turner.

Friends of Newark raise £800

April 2015 

EASTER RAFFLE

The Friends of Newark Hospital held their Easter Raffle Draw on Thursday 2 April 2015.

First prize was a luxury Easter hamper.

Tickets have been sold at the main entrance and in the Mary Taylor Coffee Lounge and Outpatients' Tea Bar over the past few weeks and have raised £800 towards the League's fundraising efforts.

Pictured drawing the winning ticket are June Howsam, Chairman of the Friends of Newark Hospital and Janet Wicker, Committee Member.

 

Easter events raise money for Dementia Care Appeal

P4080480Huge thanks go to our volunteers, who held a number of fundraising events over Easter to raise funds for the Trust's Dementia Care Appeal.

Their tireless efforts have raised a fantastic £1281.97.

Thanks also go to the Co-op Distribution Centre who raised £188.15 for the appeal by successfully doing a sponsored silence.
