Ear, Nose & Throat Department (ENT)
The Ear, Nose and Throat Department encompass diseases of the ear, nose and throat and conditions of the head and neck. At Kings Mill and Newark Hospitals we offer comprehensive ENT and emergency services for adults and paediatric patients, providing a five-day a week in-patient and outpatients ENT service at Kings Mill and an ENT Outpatients Clinic at Newark General hospital. Our Treatment centre and wards have recently been refurbished to the highest standards, allowing routine and emergency surgery for patients within the working week.

Our services include general ENT complaints: including treating a sore throat.
Adult and paediatric otology clinics treating earaches, deafness, vertigo, tinnitus and balance disorders.
Rhinology services examining and treating nasal conditions, such as sinus problems and Allergic Rhinitis.
Voice Restoration clinic dealing with voice disorders.
Nurse led clinics also provide ear treatments for patients suffering otitis externa or following ear surgery
We have a dedicated Head and Neck Clinic every Monday run by a head and Neck consultant based at Queens Medical Centre. Patients may be referred on a 2 week based urgent appointment, the patients seen in clinic and investigated at Kings Mill, and then further treatment may proceed at Queens Medical Centre.
Patients are regularly referred to clinic by GP’s or Accident and Emergency for emergency treatment and are seen as extra’s on the clinic as appropriate.
Kings Mill also has a dedicated paediatric clinic with a paediatric ward for their in-patient care.

Our Outpatient department is fully equipped for diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, providing a Choose and Book service for patient’s referral with our waiting times within the government target time.
The Choose and Book system gives you the opportunity to arrange a convienient time and day for your appointment with us.
The department also holds an audiological department and speech and language therapy department working in conjunction with the ENT team.
The audiology team offering a wide range of audiological diagnostic and therapeutic services, which includes the management of tinnitus and vestibular conditions, also offering hearing assessments for adults, paediatric and neonatal patients.
