What do we do?

In 2018/19 SFH successfully recruited over 2100 patients into research trials, this was our most successful year to date. With a target of 1800 set for 2019/20 we aim to have another very successful year.

The Trust’s current portfolio of studies covers the areas of:

Oncology
Stroke
Cardiology
Dermatology
Emergency Department
Gastroenterology
Haematology
Paediatrics
Respiratory Medicine
Gynaecology
Obstetrics
Ophthalmology
Rheumatology
Surgery
Orthopaedic
Critical care
Mental Health
Diabetes
Hepatology
Audiology

The R&I department also provide expert advice to individuals wanting to undertake research activities, provide and implement research governance on behalf of the trust and provide a resource to researchers enabling them to conduct clinical trials within their specialist areas.

We are also looking to expand on our success and take Research into new areas across the trust. We would like to hear from you if you would like to learn more about what we do, and how to get involved in research activity at SFH.
