Voting for Trust’s Governors set to begin

The ballot to elect the Governors of Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is now open with ballot packs on their way to members of the Trust from Thursday 17 August.

The elections are to determine two public Governors for Ashfield.  In addition to this, staff working at King’s Mill and Mansfield Community hospitals will also select a representative.

Chief Executive, Richard Mitchell has said he is looking forward to welcoming the winners of the elections.

“Whether they be returning Governors or elected for the first time, I’m excited to work with all our Governors.”

Richard went on to say:

“These elections offer a real opportunity for the public, staff and volunteers across our hospitals to select their representatives to help their voice be heard across the Trust.”

The poll for voting closes at 5pm on Tuesday 12 September and the Chief Executive is keen to make sure people use their votes:

“The NHS faces some challenging circumstances such as appropriate funding, an ageing population and pressures in our social care sector and having the unique perspective of Governors to help overcome these challenges is of massive benefit to the Trust”.

Results of the election will be announced on Wednesday 13 September.
