Public Governors - Mansfield
John became a Public Governor in 2017 having lived in the Mansfield area for many years. John was previously employed in managing community health Services and GP practices for several years. John strongly believes that the development and deliver of patient-focused services for out patients and communities to be most important to the health of our local population. This means putting our patients at the heart of the design and delivery of current and future services by pro-actively involving them at all stages. John is an experienced Community First Responder with the Mansfield CFR group who work in conjunction with EMAS to provide emergency medical care to the local community.
Keith believes in the NHS and recognises the critical role that Sherwood Forest Hospitals play in delivering Health Services to the people of North Nottinghamshire and the surrounding area. As someone who suffered a life-threatening event some years ago, Keith knows first-hand the dedication and skill of staff and the vital need for an efficient, modern service. Keith is a member of a local GP Patient Participation Group and has a background in supervisory management plus a first class honours degree.
John has lived in Mansfield all his life. John has four grown-up children. John was a School Governor, a role which he found enjoyable and rewarding. Over a number of years John has been involved with local charities and committees, organising and hosting various fund-raising events. John has always had the energy and enthusiasm, but has recently retired.
