Cancer & COVID-19

We know that the coronavirus pandemic has brought on worries for many people, particularly those who have been diagnosed with a long term condition such as cancer.

Macmillan Cancer Support has produced a page specifically for the latest guidance around cancer and Coronavirus, which can be accessed here

If you have any concerns around your diagnosis, symptoms, treatment or side effects, we would urge you to still contact your clinical nurse specialist to discuss. For any practical, emotional or financial concerns, please give the Information and Support Centre a call on 01623 622515 extension 6499, or e-mail us

Unfortunately due to COVID-19 many of our face-to-face offerings had to be paused, however some are now being offered with some adaptations:

HOPE

Macmillan Cancer Support have launched an electronic version of the HOPE course, allowing patients to access the content from the comfort of their own homes. These courses are now operating on a waiting list, please call the Information Centre to join the waiting list, or for more information.

We are also now running our own HOPE sessions in line with social distancing. This includes a face-to-face and a virtual offering, please contact us to find out more.

Look Good Feel Better

We are now resuming Look Good Feel Better sessions for smaller groups in line with social distancing. For further information, including dates, please contact us.

Support Groups

Some support groups in the local area are meeting virtually via Zoom. Please use the "Cancer Support Groups" tab to the left of the page to contact your chosen support group in order to find out if they are offering this.
