Anxiety
There are many things that can leave us feeling anxious throughout the cancer journey, and anxiety is a normal response to a cancer diagnosis. Feelings of anxiety are designed to protect us from danger, you may have heard of the Fight or Flight Response, however, sometimes anxiety can interfere with our daily lives.
It might be helpful to write down some of your anxious thoughts, if there are practical concerns you might wish to share these with healthcare professionals or others who can help. If the worries are about things which are out of your control, it may be helpful to talk them through with a psychological professional to learn ways to manage them. Some find simply writing their worries down can be helpful.
Using mindfulness can also help with anxiety.
