Sherwood Forest Hospitals provide ultrasound services which operate from all three of our hospital sites.

Sherwood Forest Hospitals offers a comprehensive general medical ultrasound service which includes:

  • Abdominal
  • Pelvic
  • Upper arm deep vein thrombosis (DVT)
  • Lower leg deep vein thrombosis (DVT)
  • Testes
  • Head and neck
  • Muscular-skeletal
  • Paediatric examinations

 

Obstetric service (maternity)

Our obstetric ultrasound service includes:

  • Early pregnancy viability scans
  • Dating scans +/- combined screening for Down’s Syndrome Edward’s Syndrome and Patau’s Syndrome
  • 20-week screening scan
  • Fetal growth assessment including liquor volume and umbilical artery Doppler
  • Presentation scans
  • Placental localisation scans
  • Cervical length assessment
  • and uterine artery doppler examinations

All our sites offer outpatient examinations, however, specialist examinations, in-patient and mobile imaging are mainly limited to King's Mill Hospital.
