Men's Health

We know that men do not always find it easy to reach out for support for their Mental or Physical Health. This could be due to societal expectations surrounding masculinity, which can lead to a fear of appearing inadequate.

At SFH we want to change this perception and fear by letting our colleagues know, that it is OK to talk and seek support.

  • 50% of men have struggled with mental health difficulties at some point, yet fewer than half have sought medical advice.
  • 37% of UK men admit to actively hiding their mental health issues from their partners.
  • 30% of men surveyed said that they did not know where to turn for advice or support.
  • Men go to the doctor less than women and their life expectancy is 3.7 years less than females.
  • Men are three times more likely to die by suicide, than women.
