Our volunteers service
Our valuable volunteers give up their time to work at Sherwood Forest Hospitals. They do it because they want to make a difference and enhance the patient experience.
With over 400 volunteers at the Trust we have a wide range of people volunteering from all ages and backgrounds. As well as our dedicated volunteers we also work with other organisations such as the League of Friends and the Amazon Breast Care Group.
No two days are the same volunteering. Can you spare a few hours a week to put something back into your local community? Are you interested in a career in the NHS and want to know what it's like?
Why do we need volunteers?
Volunteers provide such a valuable service to our patients and visitors. It may be helping patients find their way around hospital, providing a library service to the wards, driving the patient buggy or working in the tea bar.
As well as providing an outstanding service to our patients the volunteers also work hard to raise funds for the Trust to enhance patient experience further.
