Accessing Journals
The library provides access to hundreds of journals mainly online. The easiest way to access ejournals is via the NHS Knowledge and Library Hub. Log in with your Open Athens account to access Sherwood Forest Trust Content.
Search for the journal article by title, or for the subject you are interested in. You will be presented with either links direct to the fulltext or a simple request form so the Library can obtain a copy for you at no charge.
You can also use the Browse Journals option if you just want to browse a few favourite journals. This uses Browzine which brings together e-journals from multiple publishers and platforms, and presents them in an easily browsable format.

Get one-click access to scholarly articles by using the following tools.

- Easily install in seconds in Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Brave and Vivaldi.
- After installation, LibKey Nomad prompts you to select your subscribing institution. Select 'Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.' After that, it simply automatically scans for scholarly content wherever you may roam.

Google Scholar can be used to search for scholarly information online, including articles, books, conference papers, theses, grey literature and official reports. Linking our library & Knowledge service to Google Scholar will ensure that you get access to any full text that we subscribe to.
You can connect to the Library & Knowledge Service via Google Scholar settings & selecting 'Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust'. This will give you direct access to our electronic resources.
