Patient appointments

As we continue to see a rise in our urgent care admissions, a surge in admissions of Covid positive patients, and workforce shortages created by Covid isolation, some appointments for planned care may need to be delayed.

We will continue to prioritise urgent and emergency care and cancer treatments and we will do everything we can to avoid delaying care. If we need to take the difficult decision to delay appointments, we will contact affected patients directly to let them know. 

If you do not hear from us, please attend as requested in your appointment letter.

The communications department performs a central role at Sherwood Forest Hospitals Trust to engage with staff, volunteers, stakeholders and external audiences, including patients and families. The team is responsible for the image and reputation of the Trust.

The team looks after media and stakeholder relations, digital communications, internal communications and patient information for the Trust.

The Communications Team covers a wide range of communications, including:

  • Media relations
  • External communications
  • Internal communications
  • Social Media
  • Brand management
  • Public engagement
  • Strategic communications

The Communications Team should be the first point of contact for all media inquiries and requests.

Filming Requests

We receive many requests for news and documentary filming. All proposals will be considered and accommodated where possible and appropriate.

Proposals for filming can be emailed to and should include the following information:

  • Name and organisation
  • News or production company
  • Delivery format
  • Target audience
  • Duration
  • When it will be shown/whether it has been commissioned
