Birth afterthoughts

The Birth Afterthoughts service is available to anyone who wishes to discuss their birth experience and how it has impacted them, for example:

  • If you have unanswered questions.
  • If you have difficulty remembering your labour and birth.
  • If you would like to share feedback on how we can improve our care and services.

Some people choose to book an appointment when they are pregnant with their next baby, as some choices and plans may be dependant on understanding what happened before. Other people may wait years following their baby’s birth to feel able to talk about it with us – there is no time limit and your birth partners are also welcome to attend.

We may signpost you to the Patient Experience Team or to mental health support specific to your needs.
