Stags’ players visit local hospital this Easter

First team players at Mansfield Town Football Club helped spread Easter cheer by delivering chocolate eggs to poorly children at King’s Mill Hospital this afternoon.

Assistant manager Gary Crosby and first team coach Andy Garner made the visit to the Sutton-in-Ashfield hospital along with goalkeeper Scott Flinders, defender Riley Harbottle, midfielders Ollie Clarke, Jason Law and Stephen Quinn as well as forwards Rhys Oates, Lucas Akins and James Gale.

The players spent time talking to young patients, parents and nurses before presenting the kids with chocolate eggs on the children’s ward.

Stags’ captain Ollie Clarke said: “It was a privilege for us to visit King’s Mill and make a special Easter delivery to the children and their families.

“It’s good to have a bond in the community like this, which the club has with its local hospital.

“It’s important for us as players to see people in the community, to show our support and let them know that we are here and can make small gestures such as this.”

Tracey Brassington, Community Involvement Manager at Sherwood Forest Hospitals, said: "Thank you to our community partners Mansfield Town Football Club for the very kind donation to our children’s services - your support is greatly appreciated. The players and coaching staff who took time out from their training to deliver the treats really brightened the day for some of our young patients and their families. We wish the Stags all the best for the rest of the season."
