Staff Recognition


Recognising the achievements of the staff who make Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust special is important to us. We believe in recognising and celebrating those members of staff that go the extra mile to ensure that our patients receive outstanding care.

Every year we hold our main awards event – Staff Excellence Awards - where we recognise and celebrate our colleagues and teams from across the Trust, who, throughout the year, have gone above and beyond in their role and contributed to excellent patient care. There is a special category in these awards - The People's Award - which is open to patients and the public to nominate an individual or team that has delivered outstanding care. Nominations open in the summer each year.

We also have an internal monthly awards scheme called CARE Award, where staff can nominate a colleague or team that has gone above what is expected of them in their role. Each month, a clinical and non-clinical winner is chosen from the nominations and awarded with a certificate and prize. Staff can nominate both clinical and non-clinical colleagues via the staff intranet.

We also host regular ceremonies to celebrate dedicated long-serving staff who have been with the Trust 5, 10, 20 years and more.
