Breast surgery Physiotherapy
The Breast Care physiotherapy service consists of specialists physiotherapists, who can assess and treat common post-operative problems such as
- Problematic scarring
- Altered sensation
- Reduced shoulder joint range of movement
- Muscle Weakness
- Cording of the Lymphatic system
- Assess for lymphoedema and refer to the Lymphoedema team as appropriate
Patients having breast surgery are given physiotherapy advice in the Pre-Operative phase and dependent on surgery type some patients are followed up as outpatients in clinic 10.
